My research combines a multidisciplinary approach to questions about the relationship between people and their environment. Climate variation and environmental change are an important context from which human decision making processes take place. Climate and environment are often factored into strategies involving land use, resource procurement, trade, settlement and sociopolitical relationships. My research disentangles the complicated relationship between people and their environment. Currently, I am focusing on questions regarding the Caribbean\Western Atlantic and the Medieval Climate Optimum, as well as the late Pleistocene through Holocene paleoclimate in Western Connecticut.
