James Kerr
PhD Candidate
Holds an MS degree in Geology by the University of North Carolina Wilmington and completed his PhD at the University of Connecticut in Summer, 2022. His research interests include the paleoecology and evolutionary history of marine invertebrates. His general focus is on evidence of interactions between organisms recorded in the fossil record and association of those interactions with trends of ecological and evolutionary change. His PhD project involved evaluating the influence of both biological and environmental factors on the dynamics of commensal relationships between continental shelf assemblages of brachiopods and their skeletobiont communities through the Late Devonian extinction.
